DRAA is proud to partner with producing organizations that are in alignment with DRAA’s mission and promote excellence in three pillars for the Find Your Center 25th Anniversary Campaign: Artistic Excellence, Technology and Educational Outreach.
The Bedford Gallery
DRAA funds free school tours to all students in Contra Costa County. In 2015-16, more than 6,000 students experienced the award-winning exhibits of the celebrated Bedford Gallery-they created, tinkered and built. The Bedford Gallery is a program of the City or Walnut Creek and exhibits the work of historic, modern and contemporary artists, and provides the public with opportunities to learn about the visual arts through public programs that are varied, accessible, challenging and educational.
The California Symphony has grown into one of the West Coast’s most exciting and distinctive professional orchestras. With its home at the Lesher Center, the California Symphony performs a full range of classical music, with a particular emphasis on works by American composers. The symphony, with funding from DRAA, also showcases world-famous soloists, rising young stars, and innovative, multi-dimensional ways of presenting music.
Center REPertory Company
This is the award-winning resident professional theatre company of the Lesher Center. For almost five decades, Center REP has produced emotionally engaging, intellectually involving, and visually astonishing live theater. The company presents six shows a year, including the beloved classic A Christmas Carol, as well as lively musicals, cutting-edge contemporary dramas and side-splitting comedies.
Chamber Music San Francisco
This concert series brings some of the most outstanding artists in the Bay Area and beyond to Walnut Creek to perform great works of classical and contemporary chamber music.
Founded in 1994 by the late choreographer Michael Smuin, Smuin Ballet quickly established itself as one of the country’s most entertaining, original dance troupes. The company continues Smuin’s vision of creating dance works that gracefully merge the vocabularies of classical ballet and contemporary dance.
